Judging & Awards Event Management Case Sharing: The 10th Media Convergence Awards cum AIM Annual Dinner

With the trust and support of the Hong Kong Association of Interactive Marketing (AIM), Prologue team has proudly organized the Media Convergence Awards Ceremony and Annual Dinner for three consecutive years, joining hands with the Association to celebrate the Awards’ remarkable tenth anniversary milestone.

Prologue’s responsibilities span across theme development, event key visual design, professional judging coordination, public voting, guest registration and RSVP management, on-site operations, and media releases. This year, the official Awards website was newly established to centralize event information and enhance engagement. Through close collaboration with the Association and various partners, Prologue remains committed to delivering a distinguished annual event that embodies the innovative spirit and fosters meaningful cross-sector collaboration amid the disruptive changes brought by AI.

Upholding the Awards’ core vision of convergence and transformation, this year’s event continued to honor media organizations that creatively leverage technology to deliver news and information. The award structure and judging criteria were further refined to reflect the evolving landscape of the industry. The ceremony was graced by Mr Kevin Choi, JP, Permanent Secretary for Innovation, Technology and Industry, as the officiating guest, alongside AIM Chairman Mr Francis Fong, members of the professional judging panel, and distinguished guests, in recognizing media organizations for their outstanding achievements in digital transformation.

Mr Kevin Choi, JP, Permanent Secretary for Innovation, Technology and Industry, said AI and big data will continue reshaping the media landscape. To support development in the digital era, the government promotes industrial upgrading with a strong focus on technology serving public needs. Over 5,700 public datasets covering various services have been opened, enabling media, businesses and others to create innovative applications that enhance transparency and interaction. Aligning with the national “Artificial Intelligence Plus” initiative to build competitive digital clusters, the government supports local AI research and application. Kevin congratulated the award winners and commended the Association for nearly two decades of fostering collaboration across the media, technology, and marketing sectors to jointly promote industry innovation, and looked forward to the industry continuing to seize opportunities and leverage technology for higher-quality and trustworthy content. The government will keep working with stakeholders to promote data flow and technology adoption, delivering faster, safer and more comprehensive information services to citizens.

Mr Francis Fong, AIM Chairman, said that this year was not only the ten‑year milestone of the Media Convergence Awards, but also a key moment to keep pace with the times and to encourage the media industry to reflect on transformation. In the face of AI disrupting content production and user engagement models, the media have to confront new issues such as AI literacy and governance, as well as trends like the shift in GEO (generative engine optimization). Under this year’s theme of “G10W and Grow Forward”, AIM sought to encourage the industry to embrace change with a proactive, prudent, and professional attitude in the new era of AI, to seek breakthroughs amid challenges, to regard transformation as a prolonged battle, and to continue writing an even more splendid and shining decade ahead.

The “Media Convergence Awards” has, since its inception, been committed to recognizing excellence and driving innovation, and has gradually developed into an important platform for promoting media interaction and transformation by connecting the government, industry, corporations, and the public through professional judging, public voting, and an annual awards ceremony. It encourages different media organizations to respond proactively to market and technological changes.

This year’s judging panel was composed of scholars in marketing, digital marketing, and journalism from eight local tertiary institutions, who assessed the digital transformation efforts of various local media organizations. The panel evaluated newspapers, online media, magazines, television, radio, and English language media across multiple criteria, including information innovation and creative application, cross-media compatibility, digital marketing, and user experience, ultimately determining winners of multiple awards including the grand award “Top Ten Outstanding Media”. New awards were also introduced in three niche content categories – medical & health, parenting, and education & career. Public voting also commenced in September 2025, allowing citizens to vote for their favourite media platforms and further strengthening connection between the Awards and the public.

That evening, popular Hong Kong singer Kandy Wong was invited as a guest performer, adding a lively atmosphere to the dinner. Her connection with the Association dates back to the second edition of “Microfilm Production Support Scheme (Music)” organized by the Association, when she was paired with emerging female director Oliver Chan Siu Kuen and took on the lead role in the microfilm “Aloha!”, written and directed by Oliver. The work went on to receive multiple honours, including the Gold Award for “Best Microfilm Production,” “Best Microfilm Actress,” and “Best Microfilm Screenplay,” opening important doors in both of their performing and creative careers. During the dinner, Kandy and Oliver revisited their growth and transformation along the creative journey, expressed heartfelt gratitude to the Scheme for providing practical opportunities. They hope that more emerging creators can benefit from the Scheme to embark on a professional career in creative industry.

This year's ceremony welcomed about 400 guests, including representatives from the award-winning media organizations, representatives from government and public bodies, senior executives of local and international corporations, and members of the film industry. From the cocktail receptions to formal dinner, the event aimed to provide guests with a platform for exchange and to foster cross‑sector collaboration and interaction.

The 10th “Media Convergence Awards” adopts the theme “G10W & Grow Forward,” seamlessly embedding the 10th anniversary concept into its theme design. “G10W” visually transforms “Glow” into a stylized “10,” evoking a golden, sparkling effect that marks the Awards’ tenth edition milestone and reflects the AIM’s best wishes and long-term commitment to the industry. Together, “Glow” and “Grow” articulate a forward-looking vision: building on ten years of legacy, the Awards encourage fellow media organizations to embrace changes and pursue new breakthroughs.
